This is to inform you about type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data.
How do we collect your data?
One way we collect your data is by processing the information you send us. This can be data, for example, that you include in a contact form. Other data is collected automatically by means of our IT systems when you visit our website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. web browser, operating system or time of page view). This data is collected automatically as soon you visit our website (see »Data Recording«).
For what purposes do we use your data?
Some of the data is collected in order to ensure that our website works correctly.
What rights do you have with regard to your data?
You are entitled to receive information free of charge at any time about the source and recipients of your stored personal data and about the purpose of storing it. You also have the right to ask for this data to be corrected, blocked or deleted. If you have any questions about your rights or about any other matters concerning data protection, you can contact us at any time at the address specified in the imprint. You are also entitled to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. Many data processing procedures are only possible with your explicit consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Informal notification of this can be sent to us by e-mail. The withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

These data will only be used for the purpose of processing and responding to your query (specific purpose) and for answering any subsequent questions. If you use the contact form provided on this website, the data you enter will be sent to us via the e-mail system (it is not stored in a database). These data are your first name, last name, e-mail address (mandatory), telephone number, and message (mandatory). When the message is sent, the following data are also processed automatically: the date and time. These data will not be forwarded to third parties without your consent. To expedite the withdrawal process, please quote »DATAV-Nr. 10063425« in your correspondence.
Should your enquiry lead to precontractual measures or the conclusion of a contract, Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR will become the legal basis. The processing of your data will continue only if this is necessary for initiating and concluding a contract or for fulfilling any contractual objectives.
Data protection Regarding Job Applications and the Application Process
The person responsible for processing data collects and processes the personal data of applicants for the purpose of completing the application process. The data can also be processed electronically. This is particularly the case when an applicant forwards the relevant application documents electronically, e. g. by e-mail or via a web form available on the website. If the personnel department concludes an employment contract with an applicant, the forwarded data will be stored for purposes related to the candidate’s employment, with due account being given to the legal requirements. If no employment contract is concluded with the applicant, the application documents will be deleted automatically six months after notification of the decision to reject the application, provided no other agreement has been made to keep the data for subsequent procedures and no legitimate interests on the part of the person responsible for processing the data preclude the data from being deleted. In the case of applications, for example, there is a legitimate interest in saving data beyond the six-month period for use as evidence in settling disputes.
On the occasion of every access/download, the following data are recorded and used:
- IP address

- description of the type of web browser used

The collected data are processed as follows:
- An analysis of the log entries is conducted automatically and continuously to identify hack attacks and to be able to react accordingly.
- If individual cases of malfunctions, errors and security incidents are reported, the analysis will be conducted manually.
More detailed personal data will only be recorded if the person concerned is directly approached and discloses them voluntarily. Provided postal and e-mail addresses are used exclusively for correspondence or delivery purposes.
The above-mentioned data recording is conducted for in-system and statistical purposes only. The data are analyzed to improve the information offered by the Universität der Bundeswehr München. They are completely deleted within a period of two weeks (exception: a month-long data recording will take place between 21. December and 21. January).
