On February 17, 2023, the SeRANIS project welcomed a high-profile delegation consisting of Anna Christmann, member of the German Bundestag and Coordinator for Aerospace of the Federal Government, accompanied by Katharina Schulze, Claudia Köhler, and Markus Büchler from the Bavarian state parliament’s faction of Alliance 90/The Greens, who visited the Universität der Bundeswehr München (University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich) to learn about the FZ Space’s cutting-edge New Space research.
During the visit, the importance of the SeRANIS small satellite mission was discussed in the following areas:
- Animal tracking
- Environmental monitoring
- Removal of space debris
- Start-up promotion by providing a unique technology testing platform
- Modern satellite structures
The versatility of this mission drives the development of eco-friendly technologies in space.
Anna Christmann emphasized how encouraging it is that the SeRANIS project provides young start-ups with the opportunity to advance their technologies and test them in space to demonstrate their capabilities. Transferring research findings into industry presents a unique opportunity for the technology hub of Germany.
