The platform of Athene 1 has officially arrived on site.

December 2025 – Exciting milestone reached!

The platform of the SeRANIS satellite Athene 1 has arrived on site, and with this important delivery completed, we are now moving into the next phase: the integration of our experiments and payloads onto the satellite platform.

Athene 1 is part of the SeRANIS project, led by the SPACE Research Center at the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich (UniBw M). The project aims to provide a publicly accessible, multifunctional experimental laboratory in orbit, enabling research, testing, and innovation under real space conditions. This open approach allows a wide range of users, from academia to industry, to validate technologies and conduct experiments in a true orbital environment.

The arrival of the platform marks a major step toward launch and brings us closer to seeing Athene 1 operate as part of this unique in-orbit laboratory. Over the coming weeks, integration and testing activities will play a key role in preparing the satellite for its mission.

We’re excited about what lies ahead and look forward to sharing more milestones as we continue on the path to launch.
